Title (In English) : Indo-French Biomolecular NMR Winter School: Theory and Practice for integrative                                                         Structural Biology.

Title (In French) : Ecole d'Hiver de RMN des Biomolécules: Théorie et Pratique pour la Biologie                                                                          Structurale Intégrative.

Objectives :

The main objective of the Biomolecular NMR Winter School is to offer participants a rigorous and all-encompassing comprehension of the fundamental concepts, methodologies, and practical implementations of NMR spectroscopy within the realm of biomolecular investigation. The educational institution will integrate didactic lectures, experiential laboratory sessions, and participatory dialogues to foster a comprehensive pedagogical encounter.

   Expected Outcome :

  1. In-depth understanding of biomolecular NMR principles and technique

  2. Relaxation methods

  3. Hands-on experience with NMR instrumentation and software tools

  4. Interaction with leading experts and researchers in the field

  5. Networking opportunities with fellow participants and potential collaborators

  6. Certificate of participation

   School Date : 14-12-2024 To 20-12-2024

Venue: IIT Guwahati, Guwahati, 781039, Assam, India

Brief Outline of the Structure & Format of the School

The proposed program will cover a range of topics, including: Fundamentals of NMR spectroscopy Biomolecular NMR data      acquisition and processing Structure determination of biomolecules using NMR NMR-based dynamics and interaction            studies NMR applications in drug discovery and development Emerging trends and advancements in NMR technology.

The Biomolecular NMR Winter School will feature a balanced combination of lectures and practical sessions. Renowned          experts in the field will deliver lectures on theoretical concepts and practical applications, while participants will have the      opportunity to gain hands-on experience in NMR data acquisition, processing, and interpretation using state-of-the-art          equipment available at IIT Guwahati's NMR facility.

   Growing Significance of Biomolecular NMR:

Biomolecular NMR spectroscopy has emerged as an indispensable tool for understanding the structure, dynamics, and             interactions of biological macromolecules. As the field of structural biology continues to advance, the demand for skilled       researchers proficient in NMR techniques has escalated. By offering a focused winter school, we aim to address this               demand by providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical underpinnings and                 practical applications of NMR spectroscopy in biomolecular research.

   Educational Gap:

Despite the increasing prominence of NMR in contemporary research, there remains a shortage of specialized educational     programs that provide a deep and practical understanding of biomolecular NMR. Many academic institutions lack the           resources to offer comprehensive courses in this specialized field. The Biomolecular NMR Winter School aims to bridge           this educational gap by offering participants the opportunity to receive concentrated and in-depth training directly from       experts in the field.

   Hands-on Learning Experience:

Theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient for mastering the intricacies of biomolecular NMR. Hands-on experience with       NMR instrumentation, data processing, and interpretation is critical for effectively utilizing NMR techniques in research.         The winter school will provide participants with practical sessions where they can apply their learning in a controlled             environment, enabling them to acquire the skills necessary for successful biomolecular NMR experiments.

   Networking and Collaboration:

The winter school will bring together a diverse group of participants, including graduate students, postdoctoral researchers,   and early-career scientists from various academic and research backgrounds. We firmly believe that the propose                   Biomolecular NMR Winter School aligns with the needs of the scientific community and has the potential to significantly       contribute to the advancement of biomolecular research.
